Anticipation has been high for the arrival of the new Lexus UX 300e, the all-electric version of our best-selling compact urban SUV. We are pleased to report that online reservations are now open.

UX 300e driving

Pricing for the new Lexus UX 300e is indicated to start at £43,900, with customers able to enhance the generous standard specification with two option packs: Premium Plus and Takumi. The former takes the anticipated on-the-road price to £47,400, while the latter takes it to £53,500. The standard colour for the UX 300e is Fuji Red or Velvet Black, with five metallic options and two special finishes, Sonic Titanium and Sonic White, to choose from.

The new model qualifies for a 0% benefit-in-kind rate for 2020/2021 and just 1.0% in 2021/2022. With no CO2 emissions, there is also no Vehicle Excise Duty to pay.

The Lexus UX 300e is currently the only premium SUV to be eligible for the £3,000 plug-in vehicle grant from the UK government’s Office for Low Emission Vehicles. However, it is worth noting that the grant will be subject to application and funding at the time of vehicle ordering.

Final prices will be confirmed in October, at which point customers with an online reservation will be the first invited to place a definite order for the new model.

Technical specifications

The UX 300e is powered by a 150kW electric motor and is equipped with a 54.3kW/h lithium-ion battery. The system produces a maximum 300Nm of torque and provisional figures suggest this enables acceleration from rest to 62mph in 7.5 seconds.

On a full charge the driving range is expected to be up to 196 miles, while it should take 52 minutes to achieve an 80% charge using a 50kW DC charger. Connection using a dedicated domestic AC charger should fully recharge the battery in eight hours.
