The Lexus Great British Bike Ride isn’t the only charity event Lexus is involved with this summer – two RX 450h are providing support for TwycleBritain, which sees riders travel from John O’Groats to Land’s End in aid of CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity.
TwycleBritain’s chief organiser, 13 year-old Callum Fairhurst, is raising money in memory of his brother, Liam, who sadly succumbed to cancer last year at the age of 14. Callum is continuing Liam’s fundraising work, which saw him raise an amazing £320,000 and receive a Child of Courage award at the Pride of Britain Awards in 2008.
Callum has enlisted the support of a team of volunteers, including co-organiser, antiques expert Monty English. Monty, who can often be seen on Dickinson’s Real Deal TV programme, explains more about the event – and the unusual way it came to life via Twitter – in the video below:
Lexus offered two RX 450h in response to an open request for support vehicles on Twitter – if you would like to follow the team’s tweets, visit www.twitter.com/twyclebritain.
