The Lexus contribution at the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed is simple, as we bring two mighty LFAs for your pleasure.
Gazoo Racing LFA
The ultra-exclusive Lexus LFA’s performance was fine tuned around the curves and climbs of the Nürburgring. But as well as being developed on the famous German circuit, the supercar has been raced there over the past three years by Gazoo Racing. Class-winning results prove that the V10-powered LFA is a sports thoroughbred. The car is returning to Goodwood fresh from its challenge in this year’s Nürburgring 24 Hours race.
Only 500 LFA will ever be built. So it’s a rare experience to see two examples of the ultimate Lexus together in one place.
Gazoo Racing’s competition car will be joined on Goodwood’s hill climb by the standard road-going version. But being an LFA, that “standard” means an extraordinary 552bhp from the 4.8-litre V10 engine and acceleration from nought to 62mph in 3.7 seconds. Add the engine and aero tweaks of the Nürburgring Package to the car and there’s an extra 10hp on tap and even sharper handling.
