Johnsons family NX thoughts

Universal appeal for the unveiled Lexus NX: the Johnsons

Ahead of the new Lexus NX going on sale in October 2014, Lexus invited a group of prospective owners to its headquarters in Surrey to witness the unveiling of the exciting premium compact crossover. The NX has a strong visual appeal with sharp, highly-defined styling and a specification that includes cutting-edge onboard technologies, as well as being powered by a full hybrid powertrain in the NX 300h and a turbocharged petrol engine in the NX 200t (due in spring 2015).

But enough of us telling you how great it is – let’s find out from the people who hope to drive an NX in the near future. We chatted with Kevin and Sarah Johnson and their daughter Freya, who have already experienced Lexus ownership with a CT 200h. Picking up on the NX’s styling, Sarah says, “It looks very modern…and it will appeal to both a male and a female audience. Kevin would feel happy driving it, as I would.”

For Kevin, the NX’s appeal is a combination of its fuel economy, renowned Lexus comfort and the performance of the Lexus Hybrid Drive powertrain, but one aspect particularly stands out: “Having a growing family, having something that’s bigger, if [the NX] does what the CT has done for us, then it’s a vehicle that potentially we could enjoy driving for a very long time.”
