Lexus NX to make public debut at BBC Good Food Show

NX 300h GFS

The eagerly anticipated Lexus NX compact SUV will make its UK public debut tomorrow at Birmingham’s NEC for the BBC Good Food Show Summer.

Lexus is the principal automotive sponsor for the show  and the NX will be on display until Saturday (June 14) . The remainder of our range will remain on display until the show closes.

On sale in the UK from October, NX will initially be offered as a full hybrid only, and badged ‘NX 300h’. Next year the range will grow to include the NX 200t, which will be the first Lexus ever to use a turbo-charged petrol engine – the 2.0-litre unit will develop 238PS.

Advance orders for NX can be placed now, with prices starting at £29,495.

Asides from NX, there’s much to enjoy at the BBC Good Food Show Summer. Highlights of this year’s show include gourmet cooking shows in the Supertheatre, where you can watch some of Britain’s top chefs and experts live on stage, including The Great British Bake Off’s Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry, and celebrity chefs James Martin and Tom Kerridge, and The Summer Kitchen interactive stage with up-and-coming culinary talent and winners from TV’s MasterChef series.

Meanwhile, bakers can find everything they need to cook up a sweet-toothed storm in the Bakes & Cakes Village, where specialists will be on hand to demonstrate new techniques and skills. For those who like their food independent, there is The Producers’ Village; a huge speciality food market at the heart of the show that is filled with small artisan producers for whom quality is paramount.

  1. Will any NX’s be touring the UK for prospective buyers, like myself, to have a look over before it hits the Centres at the back end of the year? I remember in 2009 TGB toured the UK in June with the gen 3 Prius nearly 3 months before release and I was lucky enough to have the car brought to my house for a morning. I’d be delighted to do that again. 🙂 Or, how about allowing prospective buyers to give the NX a thrash around somewhere like MIRA?

    1. Hello Peter
      Thanks for your post.
We have just had a chat with our Lexus marketing team and we should know more in a couple of weeks. They are looking to see what we can do regarding a roadshow, but just need to finalise dates regarding vehicle delivery and venues (doubt it will include MIRA though!). We will however be sure to post all the information on our Blog once we have the details confirmed. Thank you for your interest in the new NX and good to hear about the gen 3 Prius being delivered to your home.
Hope this helps but let us know if you have any other questions.

  2. I’m very disappointed that all the promotional video/photos of NX F Sport clearly show a panoramic roof, BUT Lexus informs me that (for some unfathomable reason), it will not be available in the UK but will be in Europe generally. I thought that Lexus wanted this car to appeal to more buyers? I think this is a very short sighted decision by whoever makes these marketing decisions as other manufacturers are now offering these options. The real frustration for us is that I have pre-ordered because we want the car for October but Lexus say they will review the decision in about 6 months. If this decision changes before then i would have to cancel my order and re-order again thus losing my production build slot.

    Very disappointing!

    1. Hi Bob
Thanks for your post and we have been speaking further with the product team about this.
Within the last two days they have taken the decision to now offer panoramic roof as an option on the NX in the UK market. Changes like this are often in response to customer feedback so thanks again for your post. Because this decision has just been made we now need to communicate this amendement to our network so if you speak to your dealer they will not be aware of this just yet. One point though, we have been advised that production will commence from September for the roof so this may need reviewing in view of your request for the car in October.
We hope this helps for now.
