• Lexus brings luxury motoring and environmental efficiency together at EcoVelocity

Lexus will be taking its hybrid cars to EcoVelocity, a festival of green motoring taking place at London’s Battersea Power Station in September, showing that luxury motoring and environmental efficiency can go hand-in-hand.

Visitors will have the chance to drive the latest addition to the Lexus hybrid range, the CT 200h. Its Lexus Hybrid Drive system delivers 68.9mpg combined cycle fuel economy and sub 100g/km CO2 emissions, which means exemption from the London congestion charge, as well as the lowest VED rating possible, giving you a zero annual road tax bill. At the same time it boasts all the comfort, quality and technical sophistication you’d expect of a Lexus.

But that’s not all – there will also be an opportunity to drive the RX 450h full-hybrid luxury SUV, whilst visitors to the Lexus stand will also get to see the flagship LS 600h saloon, the IS 250C coupe-convertible and the IS 200d executive sports saloon.

    This sounds like a wonderful opportunity to get the message across that one does not compromise on luxury and performance when buying a Lexus hybrid. In my experience the hybrid drive line enhances luxury and performance by delivering generous power in an amazingly refined,sophisticated and effortless fashion. Lexus hybrids also deserve a lot of praise for being very engaging to drive,unlike many luxury cars that feel distant and detached. One certainly does not need to be a politically correct “greenie” to appreciate Lexus hybrids. I’m very much a traditional hardcore petrolhead to whom a car first and foremost has to be fun to drive,and I absolutely adore Lexus hybrid technology!
